Following two nights of exhilarating action, play in the GT Beer/ ‘Keep Your Five Alive’ Indoor Knockout Futsal Competition is set to continue this evening with five more matches, at the National Gymnasium.
In the opening fixture: Albouystown tackle Upsetters, before Future Stars and Alpha Warriors square off.
Back Circle then collide with Kitty Hustlers, before Linden’s Dave & Celena All Stars go up against Bent Street.
The reigning champs West Front Road ‘Gold is Money’ then close the night with a clash against Alexander Village.
The winners of tonight’s engagements will join Tiger Bay, Silver Bullets, Showstoppers, North East La Penitence, Ol Skool Ballers, Sparta Boss, Rhythm Stars, Agricola, Swag Entertainment, Sophia and Leopold Street in round of 16 action on Saturday, at the same venue.
According to Promoter Kevin Adonis, close to $800,000 in prize monies and trophies will be up for grabs and only the winners on each day of competition will progress to the next phase.
Adonis, whose brainchild it was to conceptualise the tournament six years ago, said the whole concept of ‘Keep Your Five Alive’ is that teams have to keep winning to keep their five players on the court.
“That is the only way of keeping your five alive”, Adonis stated.
