An unidentified man was run over by a minibus BWW 4632 on the Carifesta Avenue around 03:30 hrs on Tuesday morning.
When this publication visited the scene, the 48-year-old driver of the bus, who is from Cove and John, East Coast Demerara, told this publication that he was heading to the market, where he vends, when his bus felt like it had run over something.
He stopped to see what he had ran over, only to find a man lying on the road, seemingly dead.
The scene was a gruesome one, since the victim’s body was stretched across the road, and brain tissue could be seen on the roadway.
The police said that “they are seeking the public’s assistance in the identification of a male of East Indian ancestry whose head was reportedly run over by a minibus this morning about 04:00hrs on Carifesta Avenue; the body is presently at the Lyken’s Funeral Home.”
The 48-year-old driver of Cove and John ECD, who passed a breathalyzer test, is in custody assisting with the investigation. The vehicle is lodged pending investigation.”
