The high command of the Police ‘B’ Division led by Commander Assistant Commissioner Lyndon Alves and Deputy Commander Superintendent Wayne De Hearte continued its outreach by meeting a number of interest groups.
Recently, Commander Alves and a team of high-ranking officers from the Division met with members of the Central Corentyne Chamber and Commerce (CCCC) and other members of the business community in the area at the chamber office at Rose Hall Town, Corentyne, Berbice. Also in attendance were members of the Rose hall Municipality.
The CCCC is one of the most vibrant Chambers in the country and has been in the forefront of organising and assisting with the completing of a number of community projects.
Among projects that the CCCC assisted were the construction of the Rose Hall Town Fire Station and the rehabilitation of the Felix Austin Police Training College at Adventure, Corentyne.
At the meeting, a number of topics were discussed. Among the topics discussed were crime, domestic violence, traffic issues, substance abuse, noise nuisance and piracy among other issues.
Among those accompanying Commander Alves was Officer in Charge of Sub-Division No. 2 Superintendent Boodnarine Persaud and officers in charge of Crime and Traffic, Assistant Superintendents Singh and Timothy Williams.
Among those representing the CCCC were General Manager of the Nand Persaud Group of Companies Mohendra Persaud and Poonai Bhigroo of the Poonai Pharmacy and Sergeant Winston Smith of the Rose Hall Municipality.
