Dear Editor,
It was with a mix of frustration and anger that I read at length the letter by MP Harry Gill raking Public Security Minister Ramjattan over the coals. I hold no brief for this particular Minister or any Minister for that matter, but Gill refuses to observe those three fingers pointing back at him and his PPP party.
Guyana, like so many countries in our world is in need of moral transformation. No need to look too far afield either, our Caribbean neighbours Trinidad and Jamaica would relish our circumstance in relation to crime.
Gill must be brain dead to have forgotten the state of criminality that prevailed under his party in recent memory. It is my hope that he either read or will read the response to his leader from businessman Robert Badal.
Criminals come in all flavours, not all of them carry guns to stick up their victims or break into homes. Some rob the treasury and victimize their country on behalf of close relatives and friends. Like Mr. Badal and most of Guyana, I must wonder why Jagdeo is still free to assume the role of moral police?
As he so clearly states, in most countries this person would be looking out from behind bars never to victimize Guyana again.
Respectfully,
Claudeston Massiah
