Motor-racing enthusiasts will have a chance to test their skills or view some pulsating action when the first of the 2018 Motocross champion series is held on July 29 at Lower Kara-Kara Spike Land, Linden.
The motocross challenge will make a return in the Region 10 community after close to an eight-year hiatus and according to racer, Steven Nobrega, who is a part of the planning committee, the event will be like no other and will ask different tasks of riders and in-turn bring greater thrills to fans.
“This track will be completely different from the norm. It will be longer and has a lot more turns, we also have an incline. It is a unique track and I do not want to give out all the information now as I want the guys to come out and experience the excitement,” Nobrega told media operatives yesterday.
The young daredevil is banking on having a humongous turnout since they have invited a large nucleus of the grass racing contingent. The likes of Andy Rajkaran, Andrew Wong, Junior DaSilva, Vassie Barry, along with the Spellen brothers, Kennard and Kenrick are some just of the big names set to participate. Other riders from Georgetown, Bartica, East Coast Demerara, Linden and Essequibo are anticipated to sign up.
The event is open to ATV and other off-road vehicles but the organisers are asking that they register soonest for the event by making contact with Nobrega on 669-1900.
Race time is 11:00h and admission is $1,000.
