DEAR EDITOR,
Please refer to a letter which appeared in your Kaieteur News issue of June 30, 2018 p 5, by Roseanne Rodgers- “Will the City Council ever get it right?”
The Council wishes to make it clear that the flag, at Stabroek Market Square, does not belong to the Mayor and City Council. However, the Council did inform the agency, whose flag it is, about the importance of the day and the need to fly the flag at half-mast.
Also, it must be noted that, the Council has always been very happy to listen to the wisdom and follow the strong leadership of His Excellence, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Mr. David Arthur Granger and his administration, particularly in areas of empathy and respect for the rights of citizens. The Council has never been more proud than it is today of its national government that continues to demonstrate an abiding interest in the welfare and wellbeing of all of the people of Guyana.
