The Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, community was thrown into mourning yesterday after news that one of two youths who went missing on Monday while swimming on the foreshore, was found dead.
The two boys were said to cousins and were living in Mosquito Hall, Mahaica.
According to reports, the body of Timothy Robinson, 14 was recovered yesterday afternoon in the Hope Beach area, near a koker. Still missing is Timothy Yearwood, 10.
According to reports, the boys went to the Mahaica seawall for a swim when the 10-year-old started to struggle.
The older cousin attempted to lend assistance but both boys went down.
According to reports, search parties were out since Monday as frantic family members and others scoured
the beach area.
It was not until late yesterday that the body of the older cousin was recovered, snagged in the Hope Beach koker.
