De law ain’t fair. When a ordinary man get charge he got to go to court or de magistrate gun issue a warrant fuh he arrest. When he go to court he got to be there fuh every session. If he get bail and he miss de court appointment then de same magistrate does order that de bail get tek way.
Ashni get charge. He hear bout de charge and he hear that if he didn’t go to court de magistrate would issue an arrest warrant. Dem boys like de arrest warrant. Once dem get one as soon as de police hold you is straight to jail till de next court day.
Ashni know that, suh he run and come home. He had to tek leave . Dem Boys who he wukking wid tell he that he not in Guyana and he can’t get all dem leave Guyanese accustom to. That is how he get one week.
Up come de case again but dem boys who Ashni wukking wid ask he of he think he wukking on a ship so that he can jump off and jump on when he want. Dem tell him that if he want he can go but don’t come back fuh de wuk. Ashni didn’t come.
And de SOCU had other charge fuh put pun him. Anyhow, dem boys notice that de magistrate treat him like how she would treat she brother. She didn’t even try fuh tek way de bail. But dem boys seh if was a ordinary man de bail did done gone.
But Brassington come because he know that he wukking wid heself suh he can come any time. That is how he come fuh de court. But he worry bout de next time. He don’t believe Ashni gun get leave and he know Ashni ain’t gun want to lose de wuk. It mean that he now in a bad way.
He got a choice to lef de bail money or he lef de wuk. But he better come to court next time.
Talk half and watch out fuh Ashni.
