…after claiming it was stolen
Days after claiming that his black Nissan Armada was missing, businessman Sarwat Tatsie, has told police that the vehicle was ‘repossessed’ by the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA).
In responding to an article titled ‘Businessman returns to Guyana to household items, vehicle missing’ which was published in yesterday’s edition of this publication, the police said, “Please be advised that the businessman later informed detectives probing the case that the vehicle mentioned in the article was not stolen but rather repossessed by the Guyana Revenue Authority.”
It was previously reported that Tatsie also known as ‘Kishan’ of Earl’s Court, La Bonne Intention, East Coast Demerara, came back to Guyana last Friday to find his vehicle and millions of dollars in household items missing.
Kishan, who owns and operates Kishan’s Aluminum Windows & Doors, at Good Hope on the East Coast Demerara, said he left Guyana on June 12, for Canada.
On his return to Guyana, he discovered his vehicle missing and his house broken into, with a number of items missing.
He had said that the stolen household items and tools included three television sets, one music set, a number of electric tools, valued in excess of $2.5 million.
The businessman had said that the Nissan Armada SUV with registration number PPP 7456 is valued at $18M.
He had said that he believes individuals broke into his house then loaded the items into his vehicle and left, since the vehicle is one of only five in Guyana, and there is little that can be done with it.
