I joined the Police Force just over 20 years ago and for that time I have served under numerous Commissioners, some good and some bad but never have I been this fearful of executing my duties, never have I taken a laid back approach when it comes to serving my country, but that’s the approach I’m taking at this point and I think that’s the safest way to go until my retirement.
I’m going to start with the Traffic Department. I can’t help but notice the headlines on social media as it relates to two officers being allegedly transferred because the friend of another senior officer was reportedly charged for a traffic offence. This is a very serious situation and from my understanding, this is a countrywide exercise which is being conducted.
I’m trying to understand why were the ranks transferred, was it due to the fact that the friend of this senior officer got caught up in the drag net?
I would really appreciate if the PRO, the Acting Commissioner and the Minister of Public Security can explain to the junior ranks what is the right thing to do.
President Granger recently made a statement at the Officers Conference saying that the FISH don’t rotten from the tail.
I sat there and listened to him and said little did the President know that this Fish is already rotten, they’re not working in the best interest of the force neither the country, I can say further that you can find them any hours in the morning calling these ranks to release their friends who are so intoxicated that they can hardly stand even with the assistance of their vehicle, posing a threat to other road users.
I believe that the Traffic Department of the Guyana Police Force is more than capable of curbing the lawlessness on our roadways but it’s the intervention of these senior officers who are always calling and giving instructions to stand down that have things the way they are.
They are empowering their friends to do what they want and no one can’t say or do them anything and I’m not afraid to call names.
Confused Police.
