Charles Ramson (2nd right) hands over contribution to Carlos Petterson in the presence of Cosmos DeSantos, Dion Younge and Janiel Lee.
Charles Ramson, Chairman of the People’s Progressive Party Campbellville group, made a donation to Guyana’s Men’s Open 93kg champion and record holder Carlos Petterson as he sets off to compete at the 16th NAPF North American Powerlifting Championships set for Mexico City, Mexico from August 2-4, 2018.
When asked about the reason for their support for Peterson, Ramson said, “We in the PPP Campbellville Group recognise and support persons with a dedication to excellence and winning because that is also what we are about.
Our national champion and record holder should not have to look for support as he makes Guyana proud on the global stage. Carlos is dedicating a part of his life to showing the world we are a great nation so our nation should be showing him support in return. I am disappointed to hear that he received no support from the government so we are helping where we can and we wish him all the best.”
Petterson is the reigning Pan American Junior Deadlift and Total record holder; Commonwealth Deadlift record holder as well as the South American Squat, Deadlift and Total record holder.
