Long time corporate supporter of the Guyana National Rifle Association (GuyanaNRA), Industrial Safety Supplies Inc. located at 226 Camp Street, North Cummingsburg, Georgetown, has once again showed its commitment by fully sponsoring reigning West Indies Fullbore Shooting Council (WIFBSC) Individual Champion Ransford Goodluck for the 150th Canadian Fullbore Rifle Championships.
Just off his commanding performance at the WIFBSC Championships at the Paragon Ranges in Barbados last month, Good luck will now point his rifle towards the Connaught Ranges, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada form August 18-25, next.
General Manager of Industrial Safety Supplies Inc. Hemant Narine commenting on his company’s decision to fully sponsor Goodluck said that they had no hesitation when approached pointing out that the top Caribbean marksman is deserving of the support.
“The support for Mr. Goodluck I think has been earned. He has had a good year so far competing at the Commonwealth Games and then taking the cake at the Caribbean level. As a company we have been following his progress and we believe that he would continue this good form at the Canadian 150th championships.”
Apart from winning the Overall Aggregate in Barbados with a score of 390.27 Vs to countryman Lennox Braithwaite’s 379.26 and Canada’s Geoff Woodman who placed third with 373.026; Goodluck also won Day 1 and 2 Aggregate whilst placing 2nd in the Day 3 Aggregate.
He was 2nd at the 900 yards and 3rd at 600 yards on day 3; won the 1000 yards and was 3rd at 500 yards on day 2; was 1st at the 300 yards whilst taking 3rd at both the 500 and 900 yards on day 1.
In responding, Goodluck said words could not express the way he feels about the tremendous gesture of Mr. Narine and Industrial Safety Supplies Inc. towards his quest to be the best in Canada.
“The commitment shown by this company is great and has stimulated me to ensure I do the best I can at the Canadian 150th in August. Training for me will continue every Sunday until we depart around August 10th for Canada.”
GuyanaNRA Secretary Ryan Sampson was on hand for the presentation yesterday and extended thanks to Narine and Industrial Safety Supplies Inc. for its continue support for the sport. The company was one of the major sponsors for Guyana’s 150th Anniversary last year.
