It’s down to the penultimate day’s play today in the round robin format of this year’s Linden Amateur Basketball Association organised LABA/Youth Basketball Guyana/ Powerade Linden Regional Schools Under 19 basketball championship as points leaders Linden Technical Institute look to end their quota of matches unbeaten when they face Wisburg Secondary in game one at 14.30hrs. The other game of the double header brings together Harmony Secondary and Christianburg Wismar Secondary, both seeking their first win in this tournament.
Last Friday, the Linden Technical Institute maintained their unbeaten run with their fourth win in as many games when they humbled New Silvercity Secondary 78-36 behind Daniel Lee’s 24 points, 16 from Jamal Gilkes and 12 apiece from Randy Patoir and Shamar Chapman.
The other game between Harmony Secondary and Mackenzie High did not come off as Harmony did not show.
On Saturday, New Silvercity Secondary scored a 37-14 win over Christianburg Wismar Secondary as Kobe Tappin led them with 21 points.
The other game was rained out and that is to be played tomorrow.
Today at 14.30hrs Linden Technical Institute will be seeking to end the group-play unbeaten when they face Wisburg Secondary. The LTI have played four games for eight points, while Wisburg Secondary are on five points from two wins and one loss.
The other match brings together Harmony Secondary who are without a win having lost four games and are on three points against Christianburg Wismar Secondary at 16:00hrs.
Mackenzie High School have seven points from three wins and one loss, New Silver city Secondary have completed their matches finishing with three wins and two losses for eight points, while Christianburg Wismar Secondary have four points from four losses.
The semifinals will be played Wednesday and final on Friday at the tournament venue the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court.
