The Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) National School Basketball Regional Conference in collaboration with the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association started in Berbice their Regional Competition on Friday last between Lower Corentyne and Corentyne Comprehensive. Lower Corentyne came out winners by 35 – 30 points. For the Lower boys, Ezekiel Simon had 16 points, Jaydon Wiggins 8 points and Haifa Walters 6 points, while for Comprehensive Secondary Kevern King 9 points and Dwayne Williams 11 points were the top shots.
In the game between Multilateral and Berbice High on June 11, Multi failed to turn up and give Berbice High a walkover.
Line Path Secondary got pass Skeldon High 23 to 4 points at the Skeldon Basketball Court.
Scoring for Line Path Sec., Jeremy Indarjit 9 points, Jafarie Odle 6 points and Jaimie Singh 6 points, while for Skeldon Steve Satuar had 2 points and Akeem Blades 2.
Due to inclement weather the game between JC Chandisingh and Berbice High was rescheduled for Tuesday 19th June, 2018, while tomorrow Lower Corentyne will play Line Path Secondary at Rose Hall Court.
There are six schools participating in this tournament. They are Lower Corentyne, Corentyne Comprehensive High, New Amsterdam Multilateral, Berbice High, Line Path Secondary and Skeldon High.
