Grenada is the first country to officially register boxers for the third annual Caribbean Schoolboys and Juniors Tournament, according to head of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA), Steve Ninvalle.
The confirmation came on Sunday evening when the registration form of the Island was received by the GBA. Grenada will be fielding a total of four boxers; three males and one female, and two officials including a coach and a referee/judge for the tournament which will punch off from August 17th to 19th at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH).
Ninvalle revealed to Kaieteur Sport that at least 10 countries are expected to be part of the competition which the Guyanese are rigorously preparing for. Only last weekend, the GBA had the first of its fortnightly preparatory schoolboy competitions at the Andrew ‘Six Head’ Lewis gym and the next will be held on June 23rd.
