Bush Lot Secondary defeated No. 8 Secondary by 151 runs to win the final of the West Berbice inter secondary school U17 30 overs tournament which was contested recently at Paradise ground.
Bush Lot batted first and managed 199. Marvan Prashad and Tamesh Persaud added 75 for the opening stand to set the foundation for a decent score before Persaud went for 16.
Prashad, who is almost certain of a place in this year’s national U17, team batted with fluency and hammered 59, while Seon Glasgow struck a robust 77. Adrian Samaroo made 19 as Brentnol Frank claimed 2-38.
In reply No.8 were sent packing for 48 in 11.3 overs. Nigel Deodat made 25 as Lakeram Baksh snared 3-0 from 1.3 overs and Samaroo 3-18 from four.
Bush Lot lost four wickets when they batted.
