The ExxonMobil boys’ and girls’ under-14 football competition begins this morning with the March Past and action in the boys’ division from 10:00hrs at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground on CARIFESTA Avenue.
Marian Academy will play Uitvlugt, Dolphin Secondary come against Ann’s Grove, Bishops playing Annandale, Carmel against Vergenoegen and New Campbellville face Brickdam.
In the second half of the opening day, Tucville will play Queenstown Secondary, Chase will battle St John’s College, North Ruimveldt will match skills with School of the Nations, East Ruimveldt will come against St George’s and Kingstown will contest South Ruimveldt in the final opening round match.
Troy Mendonca who is Co-director of the organisers, Petra, noted that with the smaller number of female teams (which adds to eight as compared to the 24 male teams), their competition would not start until the third week of action.
In this space, he posited, the Guyana Football Federation will conduct some training for the females and courses for their coaches in an attempt to fine tune everyone skills.
