DEAR EDITOR,
With the oil & gas revenue flows scheduled to commence in the year 2020, I think it is now time for the government of the day to start planning to establish a well equipped and staffed “specialised hospital for sick children”.
Planning in the form of location separate from the Georgetown Public Hospital, staffing should take the form of specialised training for doctors, nurses and support staff which in time to come our children could be operated on locally and do not have the cause to go overseas for treatment.
It would be ideal to start planning this year 2018 so as to enable the hospital to be fully operational in the year 2020 and beyond.
Regards,
D. Sawh
