Jacques Archibald was the most lethal of the 15 Panthers that took to the National Park rugby field yesterday in their decisive match against the young and improving Police Falcons’ side, and he scored three tries as Panthers maimed the Falcons 32-5.
With the win, Panthers have solidified their place at the top of the points table with an unofficial tally of 33 points and will hope that Yamaha Caribs (that are bottom of the table) pull off a miracle victory against second placed GDF (31 points) in the final game of the 15s tournament, to emerge as the Champions.

Tries by Godfrey Broomes, Captain Rondel McArthur and Lloyd Anderson underlined the Panthers’ dominance over the Falcons. A Broomes conversion also added further gloss to the scoreline.

The Falcons pushed back, as they worked the ball along the Panthers’ goal line before finally punching through, cutting the lead to 22-5. McArthur and Anderson then typically bullied a path

After the match, top scorer Archibald posited that he was very happy with the win and he is hoping that Caribs pull off an unlikely win against GDF, so the Panthers can usurp the army men who are the defending XVs champions. (Calvin Chapman story and photos)
