DEAR EDITOR,
There is a weirdness about the 52nd Independence celebrations.
It seems that the Government in its haste to save taxpayers some money has tied bundle with Exxon. So Exxon has equal positioning of the Coat of Arms on the advertisements and promotions
A few weeks ago, there was lavish spending from the Department of Public Information on full-page advertisements about the progress. Exxon might have paid for some of those ads, but there was no branding.
Is Guyana really independent? Has the Union Jack been replaced by the Exxon logo?
Yours sincerely
