Everest Masters skipper Rajesh Singh accepts the trophy from Anil Beharry in the presence of his team mates.
Saheed Mohamed stroked a fine half century to guide host Everest Masters to a 70-run win over Albion Masters when the teams collided in a T20 affair on Saturday last.
Batting first, Everest Masters posted 153-8 with Mohamed slamming four fours and seven sixes in a top score of 76, while Basil Persaud made 17, Ronald Jaisingh and Rakesh Gangaram 14 each. Veeren Moonsammy captured 4-23.
Albion Masters chase was pegged back by some tidy bowling by Rajesh Singh and Jaisingh who conceded 28 runs in the first eight overs as they eventually fell for 89 in 19 overs. Randolph Latcha made 31 as Gangaram picked up 2-15 and Rohan Sarjoo 2-23.
Mohamed was named man-of-the-match; the game was sponsored by Trophy Stall of Bourda Market. So far Everest Masters have notched up eight wins from 10 games. The game was played as part of the club’s arrival day celebrations.
