Divisional Commander of the Police B Division in Berbice, Lyndon Alves, recently led a high profile police delegation in site visit and meeting with executives of the No 66 Fisherman Coop Society.
During the visit, the commander and his team visited the entire complex and held wide ranging discussions with members of the executives.
Among the topics discussed including piracy and ways and means of improving cooperation between the two bodies.
“Both bodies expressed pleasure after the meeting and vowed to work together for the better of both organisations. The fishermen were happy that Commander Alves and his team took time out to visit them and hold discussions. They vowed to give the police all cooperation possible,” a statement from the coop said.
Among those accompanying Commander Alves were Superintendent B. Persaud, Officer In Charge of No. 3 Subdivision (Corentyne); Officer in Charge of Traffic, Assistant Superintendent Williams, Inspector Kwesi Gravesande and Sergeant Ibaran.
