On Saturday morning, the owner or persons related to this minibus, GHH 2090, left it in the parking lot of the Harbour Bridge Mall.
They removed all four wheels, leaving the vehicle propped up on pieces of wood and parts of the concrete bumper in the parking lot. The vehicle has a “FOR SALE” sign on the rear window.
It was discovered on Monday morning by management and after inquiries from tenants, they were told that this occurred since Saturday morning.
This matter, according to Manager, Peter Fraser, was reported to the Providence Police Station on Monday morning.
“An officer arrived and saw the vehicle himself, and informed us that he will try to contact the owner of the vehicle.
“Today is Wednesday, five days after the event. The vehicle is still there jacked up and the wheels off.”
According to Fraser, the vehicle is directly in front of the Republic Bank’s ATM machine presenting a security risk to the bank’s clients.
“We have tried to have private crash trucks as well as the police crash truck to remove this vehicle. However, in both instances, we were unsuccessful. We have asked the police to institute charges against the owner and were told that it is a private parking lot. “Where are our rights? Why can’t the police protect the citizens and remove this vehicle with their equipment?”
