Max Massiah, a 2nd, 3rd and 5th Dan Black belt in 3 different styles of Martial Arts, was present to witness his featured part in the movie, “MARTIALIST – The decline & rebirth of Martial Arts” which premiered during the Expo 12 Kung Fu and Karate Masters of Martial Arts Demonstrations and Awards event, held at the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City, USA, on Saturday April 7th.
The movie received tremendous applause from the attendees, 85% of which were made up of Grandmasters and Masters of the Ancient Art, who acknowledged the movie being one of a kind due to the uniqueness of its content which included no ‘stunts men’, camera-tricks, or enhancements, but rather natural demonstrations by world-acclaimed Masters.
The Guyanese (referred to as “Master Max”) said he was overwhelmed by being chosen to be implanted into the movie, – his 5th to date, following Rainbow Rani, The Convert, Protection Game and Ankoko which will be released this year.
The movie is based upon a culmination of four years of demonstrations by Masters of the various forms, styles, & techniques of Martial Arts, most of which was extracted from the annual KUNG FU & KARATE EXPO; a gathering of high-calibre Masters delivering demonstrations, explanations, presentations, and information to the Martial Arts community & brotherhood.
Some footage of the April 7th event can be seen on the popular TV Sports programme MAXIMUM SPORTS COMBAT & STRENGTH, aired Fridays at 21:00hrs on NCN TV. The programme is produced & hosted by Max Massiah who added that arrangements will be made for the movie “MARTIALIST” to be shown to the Guyanese public.
