Following the last match day of the 2017/18 season of Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) Elite League at the Den Amstel Community Centre ground, Ruimveldt based Western Tigers remain unscathed at the top of the points table with narrow one-point lead over 2nd place Fruta Conquerors Football Club.
East Coast boys Victoria Kings are third with 16 points, from an identical nine matches played as Tigers and Conquerors. Defending Champions, Guyana Defence Force (GDF), are a distant fourth place with 15 points with a game in hand followed by Den Amstel with 14 points, while Buxton United FC are in sixth place with 11 points.
Milerock, who have nine points from nine games played, are also on the bottom half of the points standing during this first phase of the competition at seventh. Berbice’s Cougars FC who lost some tough games during their opening matches have managed to salvage two wins for their six points that pit them in eighth position above Ann’s Grove FC which have four points, while New Amsterdam United are last with one point.
