Onderneeming, Essequibo Coast resident, Devon Holder, was sent to prison for a total of four years after confessing to two robberies he committed in the Stabroek Market area.
Holder appeared before Magistrate Annette Singh yesterday and admitted that, he on, April 5, robbed Pamela Gibson of a gold chain valued $100,000.
He further admitted that on January 9, last, he robbed Rafeek Mohamed of a gold chain valued $500,000.
Magistrate Singh jailed Holder for two years on each count of robbery, which she ordered to be served concurrently.
According to facts presented in court, Holder attacked Gibson by placing a knife to her neck while she was shopping in the Stabroek Market area.
He allegedly kicked and cuffed the woman several times before making good his escape with her belongings. Holder has been in and out of prison since 2009.
