White Tiger Martial Arts Academy hosted its second Taekwondo examination on 25 March last at the New Amsterdam Town Hall. Fifteen students participated in this examination scoring between 66 and 79 percent. A graduation ceremony was held on April 4 where students received the certificates, new ID cards and report card.
The examination was based on the theory and practical in keeping with the standard of White Tiger Martial Arts Academy. Students Entering the examination at the white belt (10thkup) must obtained 70% minimum to be eligible to skip a level which would put them at yellow belt (8thkup) below 70 and no lower than 60% they obtain yellow tip (9thkup), however entering at yellow tip (9thkup) students must make a 75% to skip a level which would take them to green tip (7thkup) since they are able to skip if you are below yellow belt (8thkup) by testing (examination) and if a task was given as a bonus at the higher level 8thkup and above.
Student who participated in the examination were Amaru Moseley, Andrew Layne, Malachi Sinclair, Aiden Kirton, Justin Grant, Jeremiah Fraser, Chris Hope, Jamaine Caster and Marcus Humphrey for Tiger Warriors, and for Young Tigers and Tigers Adrian Larose, Anthony Larose, Joshua Hamilton, Tyrese Hall, Vishon Yearwood and Julez Harry.
Students are placed in different age categories; three to five ( 3-5) tiny tigers, six to nine (6-9) tiger warriors, ten to thirteen (10-13) young tigers, Fourteen to seventeen (14-17) tigers, Eighteen to Twenty-Nine (18-29) adults and Thirty and above (30 & Above) seniors.
Though every student passed the exam, recognition award was given to the most discipline, most punctual, most improved and first place for each category. The most improved for tiger warriors was Amaru Moseley, most discipline Aiden Kirton, most punctual Jeremiah Fraser and first place Chris Hope, Young tigers and tigers most improved Joshua Hamilton, most discipline Anthony Larose, most punctual Adrian Larose and first place Julez Harry.
Chief instructor, founder and president of White Tiger Martial Academy, Master Marcello Small, stated, that apart from martial arts training, children are taught to embrace the spirituality and religion since martial arts does not discriminate against religion but as an instructor he is here to enlighten individuals.
Tomorrow the WTMAA will be holding a public talk on mental illness at the New Amsterdam Town Hall the general public is invited, which will be followed by the Grandmaster Monasingh Memorial Tournament on the 6th of May and a Day of Sport at the Esplanade ground May 20th. Other activities at the Academy are tour, spelling bee, debate and Mathematics competition also their award ceremony where members of the academy will be awarded for outstanding academic achievement for the term ending July 2018.
WTMAA will be celebrating its 1st anniversary on May2nd; a special programme is planned for this celebration. The academy will be expanding to three new locations: Port Mourant, Albion and Rosignol.
