Some 2000 kites were distributed to children via the Garage Drive-in Bar and Grill on Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt Gardens yesterday.
As part of efforts to give back to the community, the Garage Drive-in Bar and Grill on Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt Gardens, hosted its annual ‘Easter Give Back’ and distributed some 2000 kites to children from surrounding neighbourhoods.
The fast food outlet was transformed into an entertainment hub as those present were treated to meals and other refreshments on Sunday. Since its opening, the Garage Drive-in Bar and Grill has been giving back to the public. According to proprietor, Estwick Northe, other companies have since joined the effort.
This year, the businessman said that the Garage partnered with a number of agencies including Cevon’s Waste Management, Crown Vibes, and Hopkinson Mining to make the event possible.
According to Northe, the day is set aside for the children to collect their kites, have a meal and enjoy themselves with their families and friends at the Garage.
“Each year, we share out an additional 500 kites. This year we catered for 2000 children. We are aiming to share out more next year.
He noted that other companies are welcome to join the Garage in the venture.
