The Board of Directors for the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has been appointed for the period December 7, 2017 to December 6, 2019, according the Official Gazette of March 24, 2018.
The Chairman is Lawrence ‘Larry’ London, with members being Sharon Beverly Carrington; Sadie Amin; Leon Castello; Duke Pollard; a representative of the Guyana Defence Force; Chief Executive Officer of the CJIA; representative of the People’s Progressive Party; Director General of the GCAA and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure.
The Closed Area Committee (CAC) board has also been appointed for one year from March 1, 2018 from February 28, 2019
The Chairperson is Abiola Henry with members being Aseef Balmacoon; Shondell France and a representative of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC), and Secretary, Shaneika Haynes.
The Board of the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) has been approved from February 1st, 2018, to January 31, 2019.
The Chairman is Donald Sinclair with members Andrea de Caires; Stacy Dos Santos Rahaman; Harrinand Persaud; Nicole Correia; Jacqueline Allicock; representatives of the GCAA, Protected Areas Commission and the Environmental Protection Agency and the Director of GTA.
The Guyana Forestry Commission board life has also been extended, effective from March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019 with the Chairperson Jocelyn Dow being given the nod again.
The members are Latchmin Punalall; David Singh; Clayton Hall; Audwin Rutherford; Vanessa Kissoon and the Legal Officer of the GFC.
The other members would from the Forest Products Association, GGMC, Ministry of the Presidency, Ministry of the Indigenous People’s Affairs, Ministry of Business, Ministry of Agriculture and the Guyana Manufacturers and Services Association.
The Guyana Gold Board (GGB) life will be for one year from March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019.
The returning Chairman is Gabriel ‘GHK’ Lall with the Vice Chair being Dela Britton. The other members are John Yates; the General Manager of the GGB; Legal Officer of the GGB; representative of the Bank of Guyana and a representative of the Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA).
The Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC) will see its life now running from March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019.
Businessman Stanley Ming will return as the Chairman with the members being Shondell France; Nageshwari Lochanprasad; Tom Dalgety; Derrick Lawrence; Vanda Radzic; the Commissioner of GGMC; and representatives of the Guyana Women Miners Organisation, the GGDMA, the NMS, the GGB, the GFC, Legal Advisor of the GGMC, and a workers’ representative.
The Guyana Women Leadership Institute (GWLI) board life is from March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019.
The Chairperson is Marva Benn with members including Sita Nagamootoo; Kathlene Armstrong; Danuta Radzik; Hymawattie Lagan; Yvonne Stephenson; Maureen Philadelphia; Florence Bourne; Joyce Sinclair; and representatives of the PPP, IDCE, Carnegie School of Home Economics and a representative of the University of Guyana.
The Commission For The Family Board of Directors life will run from March 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019.
The Chairperson is Sandra Hooper with the members being Rev. Valeska Austin; Usha Sweathenham; Father Terrence Montrose; Aleema Nasir; Daniel Thomas; Dr. Vindhya Persaud; Claudia Heywood; Lynette Roberts; Carol Maison Bishop; Yvonne Harewood-Benn; Clayton Hinds and a representative of the Ministry of Health.
The Board of Guyana National Printers Limited (GNPL) has been extended to January 31, 2019
With the chairman being Ronald Alert.
The other members are Rosh Khan; Trevor Williams; Marilyn Nedd; Franklyn Vieira of the Ministry of the Presidency; Tameca Sukhdeo-Singh of the Ministry of Business; Myra Pierre-Moore of the Ministry of Education; Emerson Mc Koy-GNPL Production Manager; Germain Simon, representative of the Printing Industry and Allied Workers’ Union and the GNPL General Manager.
Still to be named is a new board for the Guyana Power and Light Inc.
The board’s life expired earlier this year former Chairman, Robert Badal, indicating that he is not interested in returning because of he is currently pursuing an major expansion project at the Pegasus Hotel, which he owns.
