Bounty Colts will seek to defend their National Club Basketball Championship against nine other top clubs in the country when that tournament, which is being dubbed ‘Road to Mecca V’, tips of at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) this Saturday with preliminary play. April 7th, 8th, 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th and 21st see group round-robin action at cash, while April 22nd and 28th will host the semifinals and final respectively.
According to information from the Guyana Amateur Basketball Association (GABF), a total of 10 clubs, divided into two groups will battle for a projected prize purse of $2million which will include team prize money, trophies, special awards and fan giveaways. The top two clubs from each group will advance to the semifinals following round robin play. The groups are as follows:
Group 1
1. Colts
2. Bulls
3. Guardians
4. Pacesetters
5. Raiders
Group 2
1 .Royals
2. Kobras
3. Jets
4. Nets
5. Berbice Top Club
