Victor Davis, a 41-year-old miner of Ann’s Grove, East Coast Demerara, was stabbed in the abdomen on Thursday by a man known to him after he and the man had a confrontation.
According to information from a senior police officer, around 2a.m. on Thursday, Davis was at the Puruni Landing, Mazaruni, Region Seven, when he and the assailant were involved in a heated argument.
The officer said that during the confrontation, the man took out a knife and stabbed Davis in the abdomen causing his intestine to protrude.
Davis was rushed to the Bartica Hospital where he is being treated. He is currently in a stable position.
The matter is currently being investigated.
