Taj Andrew Jarvis of Dowding Street, Kitty, was fatally stabbed on Good Friday night in the vicinity of Barr and Alexander Streets, Kitty. The incident was said to have occurred around 20:00 hours over money but was framed as a robbery.
At the time of the robbery, the victim was seen walking with his friend along Alexander Street when the suspect confronted him and demanded money.
An argument between the deceased and the suspect developed and quickly escalated. This consequently caused the suspect to pull a weapon with which he stabbed Jarvis to his left side chest and chin. Jarvis fell to the ground.
The suspect then gave the deceased several blows and kicks to his stomach and walked away south along Alexander Street.
Jarvis was picked up and rushed by the ambulance to the Georgetown Public Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctor on duty at the time.
Investigations are still ongoing to find the suspect who fled the scene. The suspect is 30 years of age and resides in Shell Road, Kitty.
