A thirty-nine-year-old minibus driver is currently in police custody assisting with investigation after his former lover who visited him on Good Friday was found dead at his Westminster, West Bank Demerara home.
The dead woman has been identified as thirty-two-year-old Rosmaray Rudder of Eccles, East Bank Demerara.
According to information Rudder around 22:30 hrs visited the minibus driver with whom she shared a relationship with some time ago.
It was reported that Rudder on her arrival at her former lover’s home saw him in the company of another woman.
Rudder after seeing her ex-lover in the company of a female, who is employed at a city online shopping centre, got into a heated argument with her paramour.
The two ended up in a scuffle during which Rudder collapsed to the floor. The minibus driver subsequently left the woman lying motionless in the house and went to make a report at the police station.
The police then visited the scene and took the body to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
A close family member of the deceased, in an interview with this publication stated that the two shared an on and off relationship and they were having domestic problems.
The woman added that the ex-lover would normally abuse the woman. On one occasion, she overheard him threatening to kill her.
A man is in custody assisting with the investigation.
