Timehri Red Triangle has assured themselves of being crowned the inaugural champions of the East Bank Football Association (EBFA)/GFF/Pele Alumini Frank Watson U15 Intra Association League when they romped to their ninth win in 10 matches on Sunday last at the Timehri Red Ground, Eats Bank Demerara.
Led by their leading marksman, Ishmael Pulsarran who netted five goals to move to 16 in the league, Timehri defeated Herstelling Raiders in a goal feast of a match, 7-4. Despite the efforts of the league’s leading goal scorer, Shoran James who netted a hat-trick to move to 19 overall, Hertstelling found the rampaging lads from Timehri too much to handle.
Pulsarran hit the back of the nets in the 14th, 20th, 29th, 33rd and 38th minute with the other goals coming from Tywell Lovell in the 11th minute and Neron Barrow who had opened proceedings in the 3rd minute.
James was on target for Herstelling in the 10th, 44th and 48th minute while Solomon Austin accounted for the other in the 56th minute.
Swan FC based on the Linden Soesdyke Highway contesting their first tournament as an affiliate of the EBFA continues to prove their worth with back to back wins which came against Agricola 1-0 and Diamond Upsetters, 2-0.
All three goals were scored by Azeem Calistro, against Agricola he scored in the 20th minute and against Diamond Upsetters he fired home in the 20th and 25th minute. The wins for Sawn has taken them into the number three position in the points table behind Agricola, the two are on the same points, same goal difference, played the same amount of matches while losing and drawing the same as well.
In other matches, Samatta Point/Kanville defeated Diamond United 3-0 on account of a brace from Matthew Austin in the 4th and 24th minute and Tyrone Ricks who converted in the 12th minute.
Samatta Point/Kaneville was then held to a 2-2 draw on Sunday by Mocha Champs in a see-saw affair. Mocha had taken the lead when Genesis Lewis scored in the 10th minute but Samatta Point hit back with goals off the boot of Tyrone Ricks and Matthew Austin in the 20th and 25th minute to equalise and take the lead.
But Mocha responded with an Adam Rutherford 29th minute goal which restored parity to the scoreline as the ended with the scores unchanged.
The other match saw Soesdyke Falcons trouncing Diamond United 5-0Romero Bradford scored in the 38th and 40th minute while there was one each for Tyrone Burnette (4), Troy Gibson (7) and Malachi Leacock in the 36th minute.
Two matches from Saturday’s fixture (Timehri vs Mocha & Kuru Kurur Warriors vs Herstelling) were postponed since players from these clubs were involved in a warm up match against the Women’s national team currently preparing for two international competitions.
The EBFA will take a break from action this weekend and resume next week.
