The cream of the nation’s cyclists in six categories are expected to face starter’s order on Sunday to contest the second annual Chin Chan Cycle Store sponsored 70-mile road race which starts at Grove on the East Bank proceed to the Coca Cola sign on the Linden Soesdyke Highway before returning to the starting line for the finish.
The top six in the senior category along with the top three in the junior, juvenile, upright, under-45 and over-45 would all be handsomely rewarded according to the organisers who have also disclosed that Cube Davis Owner of Team Coco’s, Auto Body Works and Mark Duke-McWray Auto Body Works all of the USA have all chipped in with sponsorship.
Differently Able cyclist Walter Grant-Stuart who is currently preparing to make his international debut next month at the UCI C1 Para-Cycling Event April 28th – 29th to be hosted at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, Montreal, Canada would be one of the riders to watch on Sunday.
Apart from the fine form he has been showing over the past few weeks, this is a circuit that Grant-Stuart is very familiar with. Other notable names to watch would be Hamza Eastman, Romello Crawford, Jamal John, Curtis Dey, Paul De Nobrega, Andrew Hicks, Deeraj Garbarran, Christopher Griffith, Junior Niles, Raymond Newton, Briton John, Ian Jackson, Jaikarran Sukhai, Paul Choo-Wee-Nam, Warren McKay, Lear Nunes, Alexis Mendes and Adealie Hodge would all fancy their chances of cashing in big on Sunday. Race time is 08:00hrs.
