New York Tri-State Youth Cricket Development team from the USA will be making their debut in the GCA U-19 tournament which is scheduled to commence in the City on Thursday.
New York Tri-State Youth Cricket Development Inc. founded in 2003, has been a leader in the promotion, development, and expansion of youth cricket in the New York Tri-State area and now they want to provide overseas exposure their players in Guyana’s conditions.
Officers of the New York organization former Berbice, Guyana and West Indies batsman include Basil Butcher who is the mentor.
It also includes Lester Hooper, the brother of former West Indies batsman Carl Hooper, Basil Butcher Jr, and JP Singh, while their Women’s team is captained by Candacy Atkins and includes Triholder Marshall, Indromattie Goordial John, Lorne Vitter and Shandell Ward.
The NY Tri-State team read: I .Bansel, A. Homraj, D. Mohamed, I. Jagernauth, A. Khangura, M. Pooran, R. Ramrattan, G. Ravindran, T. Ross, A. Prabhakaran, A. Algoo, N. Hinds, and S. Yearwood.
The Head Coach is Linden Fraser former Guyana fast bowler, while the Manager is Wesley King.
