West Berbice’ Monedderlust romped to a solid 5-0 win over Rosignol United when rivalry in the GFF/Pele Alumini Frank Watson U15 Intra Association League in the Ancient County of Berbice continued on the weekend at the Esplanade Park.
Michael Jordan netted a brace in the 25th and 35th minute, while Jamal Fraser hit the back of the nets on the 30th and 45th minute to set up Monedderlust’s handsome win which has taken them to fifth place in the 11-team contest.
It was Rosignol’s third loss in as many matches. Hopetown United Rangers recorded a hard fought 2-0 victory over Hearts of Oak with a goal on either side of play. Danta Barker scored in the 14th minute while he was emulated by Kennick Wilson in the 60th.
Corriverton Links then edged Cougars 2-1 thanks to a Mathias Lewis double which came in the 1st and 19th minute. Cougars’ consolation strike came off the boot of Shamaul Clements in the 13th minute.
Arsenal and New Amsterdam United then battled to an exciting 2-2 draw. NA United took the lead through a Kenneth Clarkson goal from some 35yds out that caught the Arsenal’s Custodian Samuel Rawlins off his line.
On resumption it was the quick fleeted Jafari ‘Banji’ Adams with a brace in the 36th and 48th minute that equalised and handed N.A United the lead. However, Arsenal’s defender Richard Simon was nothing short of brilliant in marshalling his troops to nullify the opponent’s raids whilst instituting some of their own.
But it was the hardworking Charles Williams who produced the neutraliser for Arsenal, the match ending 2-2.
