The body of an unidentified man was yesterday fished out of the Pomeroon River after he was spotted by residents, floating face down in the vicinity of Grant Stelling Hope, Lower Pomeroon.
According to a police report, the man who appeared to be in his late 30s or early 40s, was seen floating yesterday morning. He was clad in a multi-coloured short pants and a grey shirt. After several alarms were raised by residents, the body was brought to shore by police ranks, who were stationed at the Charity station.
Though the man’s body was grossly decomposed, police claim that there are no indications that foul play was involved. The body is presently at the Charity Hospital morgue awaiting a post mortem examination. [Romario Blair]
