Top local side Hornets Rugby Club defeated Trinidad and Tobago’s Harvard Rugby Club 10-0 in the final of the inaugural Hairoun Beer/Guyana Rugby Football Union 7s Tourney which was contested yesterday at the Athletics Field of the National Park.
The two teams emerged from the round-robin format of the competition, topping their respective groups. The more athletic and determined home team ensured that the big prize of $200,000, the biggest prize yet in local rugby, stayed on these shores.
