A protest was made against Pure Masters Academy by Lodge Secondary School who they defeated 2-0 in their quarterfinal match at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground last weekend and the private institution was found guilty of fielding a player under the name of another and as such the protest was upheld.
With this ruling by the organisers of the tournament which is also sponsored by the Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) under the theme ‘Stop gender based violence’, Lodge Secondary will now clash with Sir Leon Lessons in the feature semifinal game today at the MOE ground from 17:30hrs.
Leon Lessons will be extra confident of getting past Lodge after needling the three-times defending champions, Chase’s Academic Foundation in their quarterfinal match up last weekend.
Today’s opening fixture, which kicks off at 15:30hrs, will be a mouth watering clash between East Coast football giants Buxton Youth Development and Annandale Secondary. Annandale, led by Troni Semple with a brace, had the honour of booting last year’s losing finalists Morgan’s Learning Center 2-0 in their quarterfinal match last week Sunday. Meanwhile, Buxton will be aiming to continue their discipline with a tidy win in the semifinal match.
The teams will be matching skills for a total of $1.1 million which will go towards a project of the school’s choice. The prize money break down will see the top school receiving $500,000, second place $300,000, third $200,000 and fourth $100,000.
