The 13th edition of the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) National Schools’ Basketball Festival tips off this afternoon at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) with five matches in the Georgetown/East Coast/East Bank Regional’s.
Four of these matches would be played in the boys’ Under-16 division and the other being an Under-19 boys clash.
Chase’s Academic Foundation that has proven to be very competitive in sports at the school level in recent years will make its debut in the tournament at the Under-14 and Under-16 levels.
The Georgetown/East Coast/East Bank Regional’s teams will be gunning for spots at the Nationals where they will look to dethrone the respective defending champions: Marian Academy (Boys U-14), Kwakwani Secondary (Boys U-16), Linden Technical Institute (Boys U-19) and Marian Academy (Girls Open Division).
Today’s matches are as follows: St. Joseph High vs Christ Church – U-16 at 14:00hrs; Chase Academy vs Brickdam – U-16 at 115:00hrs; St. Roses High vs Tutorial – U-16 at 16:00hrs; Marian Academy vs Presidents College – U-16 at 17:00hrs; GTI vs Presidents College – U-19 at 18:00hrs.
