Twenty-six-year-old Jermaine Abel is currently on remand for the murder of 27-year-old Hafeez Douglas, whom he allegedly stabbed to death. The unrepresented man was not required to plead to the charge which alleged that on November 8, last, at North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he murdered Douglas.
According to information, Douglas was stabbed to death after he attempted to resolve a dispute between Abel and his younger brother. Douglas, after being stabbed collapsed to the ground and was later pronounced dead.
It was reported that Abel and his brother were fighting when the deceased separated the duo. But Abel, who was reportedly armed with a knife, pursued his brother to stab him. Douglas allegedly grabbed the knife from Abel and pushed him away.
