The Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association’s (GABA) knockout tournament heated up the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) on Tuesday with a double header played in the under-23 and Open divisions, which brought victories for Pacesetters and Bounty Colts.
In the feature game, Colts, who are the two-time reigning national club champions, typically made light work of Pacesetters Basketball Club with an 81-65 victory in the first division. Dave Causeway (20 points) and Sherland Legal (16) were the top scorers for Colts in the one-sided match which the victors led from the first whistle.
Pacesetters had began the eveni
ng’s play in superb fashion after Tofawa Daly had scored a game high 21
points to lead them to a 70-55 win over Kobras Basketball Club who was outclassed entirely in the Under-23 knockout game. Daly was assisted by his teammate Quincy DosSantos who netted 17 points, while Kobra’s Amoniki John’s effort of 19 points was netted in vain.
The tournament continues today at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with another knockout double header featuring Colts versus Kobras in the main event, a 1st division game at 20:30hrs, while Pacesetters vs. Guardians in the second division match up at 18:30hrs will get the action on the way.
