A pedal cyclist and a Detective Constable are presently admitted to the New Amsterdam Public Hospital after a collision between the two along the Fyrish Public Road.
Detective Const. Dellon Chapman, 34, of Lot 125 Smythfield, New Amsterdam and who is stationed at Mibicuri Police Station, was proceeding east along the northern drive lane of the Fyrish public road on motor cycle CJ 4507 when pedal cyclist James Hooper, 64, of Courtland Village, Corentyne, Berbice rode across the road from north to south into his path causing him to collide with the said pedal cyclist.
As a result of the collision both sustained injuries. They were picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Port Mourant Hospital. They were later transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital.
