The Corona Futsal tournament which is being sponsored by Hero Motorcycles and NAMILCO continued on Thursday evening at the National Gymnasium with six more intense matches in the group, round robin stage at the Mandela Avenue location.
Alpha Warriors returned to their winnings ways, after being held 3-3 by Showstoppers on Tuesday night, and demolished a poor Tucville unit 7-2 in the feature match of the night. Delroy Fraser led the charge with a hat-trick, while Delwin Fraser assisted with two goals and Benjamin Opara along with Lennox Cort both netted one goal each in the win.
During the night’s action, Plaisance could’ve only mustered one goal in response to Sparta Boss’ 7, as the East Coast team suffered a heavy defeat, mainly from the boot of Jermin Junior who netted a hat-trick. Quincy Adams did well to support with a brace of goals, while Cleyon Forrester and Dennis Edwards scored a goal apiece. Keon Kyte was the lone scorer for Plaisance.
Future stars also scored seven goals on Tuesday at the Gymnasium, bettering their opponents New Market Street’s three. Kareem Knights netted a hat-trick for the Stars, while William Europe bagged a couple, all of the losers’ goal came off the heels of Ryan October who scored a hat-trick.
In other games, Tiger Bay led by five goals from Deon Alfred, played to a dramatic 5-all draw against Mocha. Scoring for the East Bank Demerara team in the ten goal thriller were Amos Ramsay with a hat-trick, along with one goal each from Steffon Ramsay and Dellon John.
Meanwhile, Old Skool Ballers defeated Xtreme Campbelliville 6-3, led by Roy Caesar with five goals and Alexander Village suffered a 5-3 defeat at the feet of Back Circle.
So far, Alpha Warriors, Bent Street, Tiger Bay, Future Stars, Back Circle and West Front Road top their respective groups.
