All Cricket Clubs in Region 6 East Berbice are invited to a special Face the Clubs Meeting on Sunday 11th March, 2018, at the Area ‘H’ Ground by the newly elected Executives of the Berbice Cricket Board. The Meeting which would start at 15.30 hours (3.30pm) would be chaired by President of the Berbice Cricket Board, Mr. Hilbert Foster, while the entire Executive Committee is expected to be present.
Foster explained that this would be the first of several planned meetings to discuss with stakeholders of Berbice Cricket on the way forward and to listen to ideas the different teams might have. The long serving Cricket Administrator is urging all Cricket clubs, Cricket Officials and interested persons to attend as plans for 2018 would be unveiled. The Berbice Cricket Board, he stated would use the opportunity to inform Clubs on tournaments, rules and off the field activities. Teams would also be informed of proposed internal cricket tournaments in each of the four zones in Berbice “West Berbice, New Amsterdam/Canje, Lower/Central Corentyne and Upper Corentyne/Black Bush Polder. Clubs are also urged to submit written proposals to lift Berbice Cricket for the consideration of the Executives.
Clubs are allowed a maximum of two representatives and they would be free to question the Berbice Cricket Board Executives on matters relating to Berbice Cricket. The Executives would also bring Clubs up to date on the current status of the Berbice Cricket Board finances, while new clubs shall be allowed to register to play Cricket in 2018 at the Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, Under-21, Female, Second Division, Intermediate and First Division levels.
Registration forms are available at the Old Board Office located in Charlotte Street, New Amsterdam, or Berbice Cricket Board President Hilbert Foster’s Office at the Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Head Office, Area ‘H’ Ground, Rose Hall Town, Corentyne.
