When play in the GFF/Pele Alumini Frank Watson U15 Intra Association League continued in the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) at the Golden Grove ground on Saturday last, there were wins for Buxton United and Mahaica Determinators.
The other match saw Buxton Stars sneaking back to draw with Golden Stars 1-1. Victoria Scorpions could not stand up to the Buxton United lads and they lost 4-1, Mahaica bagged full points from Buxton Youth Developers which failed to show up for their match.
Buxton United took the lead in the 12th minute on account of Colin Henriques’ goal but on 25 minutes they gifted the equalising goal to Victoria Scorpions through an own goal from Rickford Sutton.
Scoring against themselves did not come back to harm the Buxton lads as they stung the Scorpions with three more goals without a response. Antwone Sullivan placed them ahead again in the 34th minute after which, Anyika Headley in the 69th and Makhya Jarvis in the 74th sealed the deal for Buxton United.
Golden Stars took the lead against Buxton Stars on the stroke of half time through a Japhet Sam strike in the 35th minute. But the Stars equalised two minutes into the second half to end with an equal share of the points; Kubina Thomas netting in the 37th minute.
Matches will continue on Saturday at the same venue.
