The Milo schools’ Under-18 football tournament which is also being sponsored by Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground on Carifesta Avenue with a triple header.
The day’s play kicked off in fantastic fashion as Uitvlugt trounced Cummings Lodge 11-2. Ruben Danty bagged a hat-trick, while Jonathan Leitch and Seon Price both netted doubles in the massive win. Charles Benn, Tadius Edwards, Michael McKend and Moses Best each scored once in the 11-2 victory for the West Demerara school.
Meanwhile, Christianburg Wismar Secondary School (CWSS) that have had many successes in the Digicel Nationwide schools tournament have made a great impact in their first season in the Milo tournament. They defeated Annandale 2-0 to maintain a perfect record after three games.
Scoring for CWSS was Jermaine Mason who netted a first half brace.
In the final match of the day, Morgan’s Learning Center needled Pure 1-0 thanks to Derwin George’s 14th minute Stunner.
The action will return next weekend in the tournament which is being played under theme,”There is no excuse for violence.”
