The East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) leg of the GFF/Pele Alumini Frank Watson U15 Intra Association League kicked off on Saturday last the Golden Grove ground with one match that saw BV Triumph United hammering Golden Stars 5-0.
Four of the seven competing clubs participated in the march past following which the tournament was officially declared open by President of the EDFA, Alfred King, who encouraged the players and coaches to keep working hard and aiming for excellence which will one day bare the desired fruits.
King in his remarks also extended thanks to members of his executive committee who continues to toil to ensure that football is played. All the competing clubs were congratulated and challenged to play to the best of their abilities.
Attending the march past were Plaisance Panthers, BV Triumph United, Buxton United and Golden Stars. The other competing clubs are Mahaica Determinators, Victoria Scorpions and Buxton Stars.
In the lone match contested, BV Triumph United opened their quest for top honours on a positive note by whipping Golden Stars 5-0 on account of an Omari Glasgow double which came in the 16th and 30th minute.
Tyrice Dennis netted one of his own in the 45th minute, while Samuel Garnett added his name to the score sheet in the 46th minute; Jerome Robinson placed the icing on the cake with his goal in the 66th minute to seal the deal for BVTU.
Matches will continue this weekend.
