Guyanese athlete Brenessa Thompson on Saturday last scorched the track to a new personal best indoor time at the SEC Games in Texas, United States.
Thompson ran 23.15 in the heats for Texas A&M which she represents while studying there. She started well and held a tight corner to come out ahead of her nearest challenger and power home for the victory.
Her win bests her previous indoor top time of 23.36 as she beat Shania Collins of Tennessee comfortably.
On her facebook page Thompson posted, “Survive and advance. Thank you God for a great race day. #TrustTheprocess”, in recognition of her excellent effort.
